Ready for Adoption! Bud

Bud is an OR for personal reasons. He is 13 years old (DOB 6/2/98), 14-15 inches, 32 pounds (needs to lose a few), neutered, is now UTD, HW/fecal -. Bud was treated for an ear infection.
Initial impressions are that Bud is a wonderful older boy - sweet and happy. Everyone who meets him falls completely under the spell of this easygoing, gentle guy.
An update from Bud's foster mom: Bud is a gentleman in every respect. He is laid back and friendly and will introduce himself to everyone he meets - if you do not approach him, he will simply walk up to you and wait! He doesn't jump on you or lick you; he lets you chose if you want to compliment or pet him.
He LOVES to be groomed and have his hair puffed. He doesn’t want you to miss an inch! No one will ever call him a Grinch because of his paws. He loves for you to trim the hair on his paws and sometimes almost goes to sleep.
Bud is a beautiful Sheltie in more ways than one. His coat is now shiny and he is back to looking like the STAR he is. He doesn’t appear to have any skin or allergy issues. He doesn’t require special food and he is on no medications. You would never guess that Bud 13 years old. He looks more like 6 or 7 (no gray hair, thinning hair, or bald spots). His eyes are bright and he is frisky when it is time to go outside and when he is hungry. After a long day at work he is SO HAPPY to see you and will talk and fuss at you for staying away so long. His hearing is not that of a youngster. Instead of raising my voice for his attention I CLAP and he comes to me. To compensate for his hearing he watches you and now knows what I want before I do, because of my movements. He is the smartest Sheltie I have had.
Bud does have arthritis, but it doesn’t seem to slow him down much. He has a special way of getting up…when laying down he scoots his front legs to a sitting position and then goes his merry way.
Bud walks very well on a leash - not pulling, walking briskly and staying next to me. He likes to snuggle for a few minutes at night and early in the morning and then he’s either ready to go to sleep or eat breakfast. He loves to sun in the outdoors. He talks to you and will let you know if you are late for supper, too slow moving for breakfast, or if he needs a bathroom break. He is completely house trained and does well with both dogs and cats, as long as they are not aggressive to him…then he can and will hold his on.
When visiting his 7 human foster grand cousins (11-1 years of age) he fits in right at home. He is gentle with them and they are also gentle with Bud, showing him the respect of not getting in his face, pulling his hair or eating his food. Any family interested in adopting Bud cannot go wrong….he is the greatest.

Pepper is a gorgeous 7 year old (DOB 12/25/04) mahogany sable who was relinquished by the family after the death of his owner. Pepper is 17 inches, 43 pounds, HW/fecal -. He is now UTD, neutered and just had his teeth cleaned. He is understandably nervous and upset by the loss of his previous owner. It takes him several days to trust new people, but once he is comfortable he will interact and flip over for tummy rubs. He is leery of strangers but additional exposure will help him gain confidence and overcome this trait. An adult only (or family with older children) with some dog knowledge would be the preferred adopter.
From Pepper's foster mom: Pepper loves to go for rides and will stick his face in the A/C vents on the front dash throughout the trip. He also enjoys walks, but needs some obedience training to not pull on the leash. He knows "sit, paw, kennel up and inside" commands. He's learning how to play with a ball, catching a tennis ball in his mouth, and bouncing a child's 8" ball off of his noise - sort of like playing volleyball. He's an active boy outside, but content to snooze on the carpet or in his crate, while he is inside.
Pepper is kennel and house trained. While he is tolerant of other dogs, he does not interact with them much. He would probably prefer to be an only dog.
