Mick

Mick

Mick is an OR to a local shelter. He is ~12-18 months old, 16-17 inches, underweight at 21.8 pounds. Mick is now UTD and neutered, HW/fecal -. Mick is housetrained and loves playing with one of the Shelties in his foster home. Mick is an energetic young male who would benefit from further training and lots of exercise. His foster home will be taking him to an obedience class. His best fit would be a home that would be willing to continue his training.

Ready for Adoption! Landon

Landon Landon Landon

Landon is from a local shelter. He is ~7-8 years old, 12 inches, 15 pounds, UTD, HW negative, was treated for hookworms. Landon is now neutered and had a much needed dental. He is very friendly and enjoys the company of the other dogs in his foster home.

An update from Landon's foster mom: Landon is a happy boy who loves to be petted, knows how to "sit", adores his walks, and will play fetch. He is completely housetrained and gets along with other dogs and cats. He is a bundle of energy and would do best in a home where he can receive lots of love and play time. Landon is a loyal companion, but he is timid and anxious around strangers. He would do best in a child-free household where the owners are willing to be patient with him as he gets to know them.

She follows her foster mom from room to room and sleeps by her beside. The resident Shelties and Gia are getting along well. Gia travels well in the car. Gia was bathed yesterday and sat patiently in the sink while her foster mom insisted on washing her face and ears, along with the getting the rest of her all wet....but Gia knew she looked great afterwards!

Ready for Adoption! Bear

Bear Bear

Bear3 was adopted from HSS in 2009, and has now been returned for personal reasons. This gorgeous boy is 7 years old (DOB 4/24/2004), 16" and lean at 22#. He is neutered, HW and fecal -, and UTD on vaccinations. Bear has corneal lipidosis in both eyes, and appears to have lost vision in his left eye. He has been bark-softened.

Bear
Bear is a very high-evergy boy, and somewhat anxious. His vision issues don't slow him down a bit, and he enjoys playing and running. He needs an active home that will make sure he gets adequate exercise each day.

Ready for Adoption! Corey

Corey Corey Corey

Corey is from a local shelter. He is ~3-4 years old, 17-18 inches, 35 pounds (needs to gain a few), UTD, neutered, HW-, was treated for hookworms.

An update from Corey's foster mom: Corey is very quiet so far. He doesn't like to be left alone and follows me from room to room. He sleeps quietly on the floor in my bedroom. The only time he barked was when I left him alone in a room to eat. No accidents that I've found, so he appears to be housetrained. He is comfortable with the two resident dogs and has not even noticed my dog-savvy cat. He is very curious about caged animals, though, and resourceful about getting to them. He appears to have a high prey drive, and I think he would go after a rabbit, hamster, guinea pig, or bird, so a home without small animals is best.

Now that I've had him awhile, he knows our routines, and he gets very excited at mealtimes, runs beside me and does Sheltie spins, and definitely herds me. Corey met my two granddaughters (ages 6 and 4) the other day, and he sat quietly and let them pet him. He is really shy with adult strangers and runs from them.

An update from Holden's foster mom: Holden is a real sweetheart! He has a sunny disposition, and when he gets real excited, there's no stopping his "Sheltie spins". He is housetrained and loves being with his humans and my resident Shelties. He has a beautiful coat, and reminds me of a big teddy bear.

Ready for Adoption! Shiloh

Shiloh Shiloh

Shiloh has been returned to the program due to the health issues of his owner. He's 12 years old, and just a little guy at 13-14" and 22#. He's UTD, neutered, and HW and fecal negative.

Shiloh's a bit sad and confused right now - he lost his lifetime doggie companion last year, and now has lost his favorite human companion. He's a quiet, easygoing boy with big, beseeching eyes who gets along well with the resident Shelties in his foster home. He wants nothing more than someone to give him a place to lay his head (preferably close to you!), some good food, and some skritches behind the ear. He has a couple of allergies issues which we're addressing in foster care.

Maddie

Maddie Maddie Maddie

Maddie is an OR for personal reasons.  A itty bitty little girl at 12 inches and 10 pounds, Maddie came into our clinic curled in a tiny ball, weak and dehydrated from what appeared to be chronic diarrhea, and anemic from the fleas crawling all over her.  What a difference proper food and medical care makes!  Within days, she was prancing and barking, and chasing balls across the floor in the clinic.  No one would guess she is 9 years old.  She is HW and fecal -, and now UTD.  Maddie will be spayed after she gains a few pounds.

Ready for Adoption Lucy 4Lucy 4

Lucy Lucy
Lucy4 is a found stray.  Neighbors contacted us about taking Lucy after she had been seen wandering the neighborhood, being fed by different neighbors, for almost 3 weeks.  Lucy is ~8 y.o., 16" and overweight at 45# - she needs to lose 15-20#, which we will work on in foster care.  She is HW-, and was treated for roundworms.  She is scheduled for a spay and a much-needed dental, and will be available for adoption 2/4.

Initial impressions are Lucy is incredibly sweet girl who loves everyone, and who wears an ever-present grin.  She kennels easily and without complaint.  She will make her forever home very lucky with her happy personality and loving temperament.

Adoption Pending KallieKallie

Kallie Kallie Kallie

Kallie is an owner relinquishment due to the incapacitation of her owner.   She is 6-1/2 years old (DOB 2/24/05), 14-15" HW and fecal -, and spayed.  At 36#, Kallie needs to lose about 10-12#.   We'll be working on that in foster care through diet and exercise.

An update from Kallie's foster mom:  Kallie is a very sweet, well-mannered girl.  She loves it when you call her name; she looks at you smiling and wags her tail.  She loves to ride in the car and go for walks.  She knows sit and shake, and when sitting on the couch with you, rolls over expecting lots of belly rubs.  She is unused to being around other dogs, but seems accepting.  Kallie is house and crate trained. She will make a great addition to any lucky family!

We'll know more about managing the condition as time progresses.

An update from Lucky's foster mom: Lucky, with his perfectly tipped ears, is a sweet boy and is little confused right now about all the changes he has endured in the past couple of months. He is very shy with people and dogs, but getting better every day. He is crate trained, and we are working on housetraining. It will take a little time for him to become comfortable in his new surroundings and learn that he is safe and that our dogs will not hurt him. He loves his antler chew, and is very good in his crate as he goes through heartworm treatment.

Please check back for further updates.
