Ready for Adoption
Layla is an OR due to family circumstances. She is 2 years old, 17-18 inches, 37 pounds, spayed, now UTD and fecal negative. Layla has completed heartworm treatment and is ready for adoption.
An update from Layla's foster mom: Layla is a sweet, active girl who will need a lot of attention and reinforcement of rules and house manners in order to help her become a good family member. She's like a great big rambunctious puppy! She is a Velcro dog and respects me being the alpha. She is a people dog and doesn't really know what to do with toys. Layla needs a job, such as agility or rally and would do very well. This would build an incredible relationship with her new alpha human. She is smart and gets excited when she does things correctly. She really wants to please her human. That quality makes an awesome agility or rally competitor.
She know "sit" when the leash is coming on or off. She will crate on command with a piece of kibble as a reward when she's in. She now knows "sit", "down", and is doing pretty well with "stay". She lived with another dog in her previous home, but she doesn't necessarily get along with other dogs and would do best as an only dog. She will need to be reminded that counter-surfing for the oh-so-tempting food you're preparing for dinner is not for her. :-) Her perfect forever home will be one who is prepared to continue to give this playful pup boundaries.
