Amazing Year for HSS - 2013

2013 was an amazing year for Houston Sheltie Sanctuary. By year end, the total number of Shelties rescued totaled 1164. This could not have happened without our volunteers, supporters and donors over the past 15 years who have contributed toward this amazing accomplishment. Those of you who have loved, medicated, bathed, walked, trained and nurtured over 1164 dogs into health and new homes - as well as those who have helped with home visits, adoption events, publicity and fundraising. We look forward to continuing our work in 2014!

The Number One Killer

The Number One KillerThe number one killer of our rescued Shelties is Heartworm Disease, yet it is preventable through a monthly pill costing about $10.00. Failure to give monthly preventative is abuse. We require all veterinary records showing vaccinations given and heartworm preventative purchased for all resident dogs. If heartworm preventative is purchased on line, we require copies of those receipts.
